David,
I put the buckles in the middle because I thought the other end would do
less damage if dropped on the rockers or sills. The "insert" end can still
chip the paint, though. I always slide that end between the seat pan and
the cushion when not in use to keep it out of harms way, but I seem to be
having a hard time training my wife to do the same on the passenger side
:-(
