On the TR4 I found a little plate welded to the black laquer painted lower
'cross member' with only a 'C' on it. I guess I got the third frame version in
TR4 production. Anybody out there got a D?

While removing 40+ years of 'preservative' from the main crossmember located
directly beneath where the engine sits, I noticed two interesting things. 1)
The part of the frame that was being cleaned was painted white and 2) there
is a plate attached on top of the crossmember with a number stamped on it (Z
33). Has anyone ever seen a white frame on a red car? It must have looked
stunning when new. Any thoughts on the number plate? Sounds like one of
those Chevy codes. I love this stuff!
