TR-3 WIndshield Stancion

After disassembling the windshield, I noticed that the right hand strancion of
my 1960 TR-3 is slightly bent.  There was no apparent problem before
disassembly.  There is a gentle curve (when laying flat, the small end is
about 1" off the work bench). Will that correct itself when re-assembling or
does it need to be corrected before hand.  If so, how do I do that?
