Janssen, I place the head in an arbor press and push the guides flush to the
head, then I use is a piece of rod just slightly smaller in diameter than the
guides that has a pilot on the end that will go inside the guide and using the
arbor press just push them through. For installation I mage up a sleeve that
will fit around the guides and cut the sleeve length to match the installed
height. Slip it over the guide and using the arbor press force them in until
the sleeve bottoms out and there you go, installed to length. Don't know if
it's
the proper way or not but it has worked for me for years.
