Yes, you can weld in a reinforcing plate from underneath when the diff is out. I just have a cardboard pattern and cut a plate out of steel sheet, file and grind to fit and weld it in. Hard to describe, I may have to take a picture. Just running more weld around the studs will not be of much benefit, one really should triangulate the forces by bracing the original brackets. mjb. |
