All the talk about filters brings a question to mind, What
is the recomended oil for my '63 TR4?

According to my manual: Mobiloil, Shell X-100, Esso, BP Energol, Castrol XL
or XXL, Duckham's Nol or (Texaco) Havoline.

But that list is 40 years old and suggests mostly single-weight oils for
various temperature ranges. ;-)

Most folks agree that any quality motor oil is fine, with a 20W-50 weight
most often suggested particularly for summer air temperatures, and 10W-40 for
slightly cooler weather (under 70 degrees F).

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
