I put a post on this a few months ago. I purchased the JC Whitney setup
with the powder and big buffing pad for a drill. I had luck with the minor
spots, but never got any of the large scratches out. I only spent a few
hours on the windshield and I guess it would have eventually worked for the
deep stuff, but I didn't want to spend weeks on the project. It did work
very well on the lighter stuff. I think the kit was about $40, much less
than a new windshield so if the scratches are nto deep you may want to try.
I haven't tried the "magic" solutions.

I have a shaded or shadowed arc on an MGB. It's not a "line" or deep
scratch that you could feel with your fingernail. It's more a hazy arc
left by the wipers.
