Hi-
  I used that 3m tar-like sealant stuff that comes in a box arranged in
little strips. It worked really well but the excess oozed out over time.
I believe it will prevent water from collecting.

But since mine is a TR6, I don't have the chrome beading that you
probably have to you may have a different set of needs.
