My local independant tire shop will do a dis/mount only (no balance) for
under $10.
Or, HF frequently has their "portable" tire changer on sale for $40.

I wouldn't call it either portable (has to be bolted to a solid surface to
use) or easy, but you can change tires on it as long as the wheel can be
held through the center. Took some creativity to use it with wire wheels,
but it got the job done.
