Well since the engine block is the same I suppose that you could.  You
would need a back plate, bellhousing and clutch ( with master and slave
cylinders or something rigged) from a GT, then you would probably have to
make up a rear transmission mount, and fabricate a new drive shaft to mate
with the smaller u-joint the GT uses and possibly some tunnel mods for the
shifter- but WHY?  The GT6 trans is barely adequate for the GT6, You would
tear one apart fairly quickly behind a TR6 motor (2500cc) and the
additional weight of a TR6, plus the gear ratios would most likely be
untsuitable for the slightly heaver TR6
