Martin,
I'm using a 13lb Fidanza aluminum flywheel & feel no difference at stop
light starts or any other low rpm clutch release. The fear that has been
spoken about on this topic is unfounded in my experience. What I can say
is that I have noticed a lightness to upshifts & downshifts, quicker low
rpm wind up & probably a benefit to the crank from less rotational mass.
Caution should always be taken when removing material from the flywheel
especially 30 year old parts.
