Keep in mind that Muriatic acid is just a weaker solution of Hydrochloric Acid. 
Like all mineral acids not good for mind and body (yours that is)

Muraitic acid is good for eating rust (and metal), but doesn't etch the metal  
which phosphoric acid does. I wouldn't use either in an enclosed space and use 
plenty of hand and eye protection especially with muriatic, its wicked. 
Phosphoric acid is part of the POR fuel tank cleaning kit.
