Blake:

Thank you for sharing your explanation as to the new restrictions on the VTR
site. I have two articles in the maintenance section and still get emails
asking me questions. I have other articles that I have written that are on
our club's web site (www.cptc.org). Our club's site is free to all who want
to make use of it, including our tech articles and we even place classifieds
to non-members at no charge. Our thinking is that we are financially stable
as a club (do not read this to mean rich) and we believe that any way to
support the membership and further the preservation of the Triumph
automobile is our mission. Therefore, we believe that our members receive
ample return for their dues while still supporting others who may benefit
from a portion of our wealth through the web site. I have yet to visit a
site that restricts its tech articles. Now, please do not read this as a
criticism of your decision, because as the newsletter editor for the CPTC, I
too can appreciate the work that such endeavors take. I am just not decided
as to the organization's decision to take contributory articles and then lay
ownership on them by requiring payment (through membership) for something
that you did not create (other than the pages). I will still have to think
about this some more....

Hello listers,

Earlier today I responded in detail to Bob Danielson's inquiry and copied
the list, but the reply never made it to the list, perhaps due to its
length. If you are interested in reading my reply, it is at:
