The questions are:
What brand of cars are in West Africa?
Do they sell / service USA brands in that town?
Does she want to blend in with the locals or draw attention that she is a
outsider?
If USA cars are the norm, bringing a US spec car might not be too much of a
problem. If the car is to run on leaded gas, there is sometimes a "
export" kit available from the dealer. ( converter bypass, computer
reprogram )
If US cars are few and far between getting parts would be a problem.
As others have said, see if there are any cars onsite.
