My name is Larry Daniels. I'm in Oshkosh, WI.
I just joined the Triumph list as I am looking for a TR3. I presently own a
79 MGB Limited Edition, a 72 MG Midget and a 60 Bugeye Sprite. I've always
admired the lines of the TR3 and am in the market for one. I am just
finishing a motor rebuild, new wiring and brakes on the MGB and the Bugeye is
a project waiting in the wings, so I don't need another project car. Nor am I
looking for a concourse car, but a nice driver would be good. Some mechanical
work is OK -- no body work (not my strong suit). If anybody knows of a car
(preferably within a couple states from WI) that would fit that description,
please let me know.
I'm not very knowledgeable on the value of TR3s. Does anybody know of a
website that you can point me to for guidance on prices? I do have a line on
a 62 TR3A in decent shape that I think I can pick up for around $8000 or so.
Is that reasonable? How high is too high for a decent driver of that
vintage?
