Back in the late 70's there was series of letters to the editor in
Aviation Week about the Coriolis Effect and it finally got around to
sinks. The letter that ended the series was from someone at MIT.
(Where else??)

The writer reported that one day he noticed that while standing in a
large group shower, that the water was entering one drain with a
clockwise rotation and entering a neighboring one with a counter
clockwise rotation.

His only conclusion was that the equator ran right through the shower.

Got to love those guys at MIT!!! :-)
