NO, place the gasket sealer on the gasket, then place
the preped gasket into the ening carfully to insure
proper position. THEN install the liners carfully &
EVENLY so not to damage the Fig.* gasket. THEN install
the hold down hardware.

I finished prior to getting your reply. All worked out well, I installed the 
fig8 gasket of each set of two liners, they both offered up to the block 
smoothly, no need to even tap in. I did dress all surfaces. The deck hieght 
(.005") 
was the same, with and without the dressing. All went so smooth I even had 
time to put the pistons in. By the end of the week we'll see if it did actually 
as smooth as it seems.
