About 4 times a year I drive by a garage (in North Haven, CT) that
specializes in "foreign car" repair with an occasional LBC sitting in the
lot. Lately I've been by it more often and find that there's always an LBC
or two waiting their turn. So last week I had to make a Fed Ex run down that
way and decided to stop in and see what kind of work is done there. This
time there was a very nice 1976 TR6 and an MGB for sale along with another
TR6 and an XKE in for repair. While waiting for him to finish with customer
I noticed lots of SCCA pictures on the walls of an MGB at various races
along with a picture of its driver Mark Lydell. A look at the picture and
the guy talking to a customer revealed a slightly older Mark Lydell. Bottom
line....a heck of a nice guy, who does lots of LBC repair work and has been
campaigning an MGB on the SCCA circuit for a bunch of years with moderate
success. I know there's some list members who also race and are wondering if
any of you know Mark or are familiar with the quality of his work.
