Steve,

When I drove coast to coast in 2009, I looked at each system in the car in
turn to ask "What should I bring" and "What could I bring".

Ignition
Caps, points, leads, plugs, rotors, condenser (the condenser got me there).
I carried "working when removed' parts from my routine maintenance, figuring
they were proven.

Cooling
Full set of hoses, Radweld, water.

Fuel
Electric fuel pump, prepped with connector hoses and leads, fuel filter,
carburettor spares and service kit. I also had a spare 'mechanical' pump.

Electrical
Fuses, wire, connectors, bulbs, meter.

Brakes & Wheels
Spare (obv.), tubes, pump, patch kit, irons, silicon. Caliper service kit
(this got me back).

There was more, plus a good set of tools and misc. hardware, so you get the
idea.

I took out the panel behind the fuel tank, and began packing, noting where I
stuffed things, then put the panel back when that was full, I packed around
the spare wheel, when that was full it went into bags in the trunk/rear
'seat'. Folding jack stands were great for the caliper repair.

I had one bag for me. I never used the luggage rack or the passenger seat.
You have more of a challenge with a passenger, though 2,000 miles over 7
days isn't too bad, averaging under 300 miles per day.

Good luck with the trip, and Happy Anniversary..

Brian
