I never snapped mine off but in fear of doing so I started bleeding my 
calipers by loosening the cross-over pipe.  But that was before I sent them off 
to Peter for rebuilding and he got them out somehow.  The bleeders work just 
fine now, thank you.  

Not literally replacing but a remove and rebuild operation.  Call Peter at 
NOS Imports and see what he says.  Wouldn't you like some stainless steel 
pistons anyway?
