If you were running direct fourth gear you would run about 44 MPH at 2200 
RPM.  55 MPH at 2200 certainly suggests the OD is engaged.

Of course all the caveats apply.  Assuming your speedo and tach are 
reasonably accurate.  And you have a stock differential.
