Ed,

I did that over and over. But now that I have it off the car, again, I 
will clean the contacts again.

I emailed Matt at British Wiring to see if they offer a rebuild service. 
I would prefer to pay a bit of $ to insure I have a good spare.

Just got back from filling up and everything is ok with the charging 
circuit.
