the ring gear did not need to be reversed as the pinon is beveled.  as long as
one is beveled thats all you need for proper engagement.  you don't need the
beveled side of the ring gear.  i posed the same question to Dave Bean Eng.
re: a new aluminum flywheel for the Cortina a couple of years ago....it's been
just fine with beveled side reversed.
