As a matter of curiosity, why doesn't anyone ever mention the Fiat 124? I
raced MGAs and MGBs, and have a Fiat Spider street car, and on paper the 124
is superior in every way to the MGB, its brother in price class: double
overhead cam, 5 speed, 4 wheel disc brakes and much better driving comfort.
It seems to me BLM won the image war with a car of less capability. I can
remember only an occasional 124 in regional and national SCCA racing. All
the "serious" E prod cars were MGBs or Porsches, an occasional Alfa or
Triumph. Seldom was the Fiat 1124 in evidence. I know there was little Fiat
factory support and the dealer network was very weak.
Anybody had experience with both...or either?
