What an excellent idea!  But let's take it one step further and allow no
vintage car on the track without its original driver and its original
_tires_.  Finding tires that hold air would further limit the hoi polloi.
 Those that did hold air would be hard as a rock!  What fun watching
those shaky old farts slide around the track like they were on ice! 
Sure, you'd get more "incidents," but imagine the spectator appeal!
