One More Newbie Question (at least)

Listers:

If you lived within 60 miles of your race track, and could buy a vintage
car that you could both drive to the track and race, which would it be? 
In other words, which car might be the best combination of street
reliability and track performance?

To date, my choice for this car would be the Lotus Super Seven. 
Secondly, a TVR 2500, though I don't know if the TVR is vintage
qualified -- I've never seen one out there.
