- The difference is probably due to the earlier distributor being of the SIII and earlier type. This has a drive shaft for the rev-counter, whereas the later series had electronic rev-counters. I'm fa

- I have a series III dist on my fresh 1725. I had a machine shop lengthen the drive on the oil pump. Did this by donating an old oil pump and letting them cut it up. Paul Colorado

- remember that the slot in the oil pump drive is slightly offset. Make sure they get it back to the exact loctaion/postion.
