I believe the engines are fairly readily available in Europe, They are a standard Peugeot/ Renault/ Volvo light truck engine.

I am no DeLorean expert, but I seem to recall that they used a Buick V-6 engine from that era (early/mid 80's)... was that really a Peugeot engine? Oh brother! Smoky P.
