The power steering unit uses Automatic Transmission fluid, not power steering fluid. Power steering fluid is too thick and will cause overheating. I found this out the hard way. I can't remember if

No, no, no, no, no don't use brake fluid. Automatic transmission fluid and power steering fluid are similar but just buy some or manhandle the car home till you can fix the leak and get the fluid. I

The reason you can't use Dot 5 with ABS systems is that we (did I mention I'm an ABS systems engineer) use EPDM rubber in our seals. EPDM and silicone don't get along at all. Dot 5's major pro's are
