- Hi Gavin, sure sounds like you have a float level problem. Either the needle valve is not always seating or perhaps you simply have too high a fuel pressure. The SU's like no more that 3psi in my exp

- I just read the note again and saw you have HIF type carbs: the mixture range adjustment on these carbs is really quite small - nothing like the amount of adjustment you get on the bottom nut type or
