Are you sure this is the correct size? None of the thread or tap charts I have show a size of M13, they all jump from M12 to M14. I also looked in machine tool catalog and there's no such thing. I d

Hmmmmm. Could that *possibly* be a common 1/2-20 NF thread ??? 1/2-20 looks like 12.7x1.27mm in the metric world. Try measuring it again, but with an inch ruler. Just for info, 1/2" Whitworth have 12

Could your bolt be one of the infamous BSF or British Standard Fine type. Up untill its 1980 demise, MGBs had BSF bolts and nuts in them. For a long time I thought they were of the commy metric type

Bet a nickel it is really 1/2-20 UNF. 13mm = .512 1/2" = 12.7mm 20 threads per inch = 1.27mm 1.25mm = 20.32 threads per inch Pretty damned close, and 1/2-20 UNF is a very common size on British cars.
