Great advice - I was hoping there was an alternative to a solid center clutch. The close ratio gear set yields a really tall first gear, and a little give (i.e., sprung disc) would seem to be easier

Here's how I'd describe it: My GT6 has a welded rear - its behavior is consistent throughout the turn (like it or not!). Get on the gas early and it's predictable, but not great for low speed turns.

The GT6 is much heavier, but I run about 35 hot; 31-32 cold. I was running much lower pressures and found the tires tended to go "off" and get too slick at lower pressures. The Miatas run even higher
