Hello: What happened to the meter when the lights were turned on while the engine was off? It should have swung negative about 10 amps if it WAS working correctly.

Stu I ampmeter is wired wrong. Follow the Thu, Jun 8, 2000 wiring diagram and you will see that it is wired wrong. The load side maybe wired to the battery side. Jerry Felper
