Maybe a stupid question but, have you checked your dashpot oil? Also what you described is a good indication of a vacume leak. Check all the hoses to see if one was hard because of the cold a vibrat

I put about 6 oz of Marvel Mystery Oil in every tank. A little upper cyl lube is how I look at it , but now that you mention it my stainless steel exaust does still look like new!!! Chet
