Shoes are adjusted right near the top (1957 MGA) and the pedal is firm. I adjusted most of the free play out with the push rod. I lowered the gas pedal by putting in a larger stop and reset the cable

When I encountered this same problem in my 1970 MGB, I discovered a clogged fuel filter. It wasn't the first thing I checked, but it should have been. Simple stuff first. ____________________________

When I had my MGB, I used Fram 3614 filters, same as what went on my 1998 Dodge Neon and my 1966 Sprite. I used to get these in packs of 4. If I was careful on removing it and didn't tip it, most of
