- My bet is fuel flow restriction. 1. Bad pump 2. Bad filter 3. Bad fuel pick-up I would guess that you can accellerate slowly up to what ever speed you want but that you can not climb hills or accelle

- now runs over 4000 rpm in the garage and the advance can be seen with the strobe. Unfortunately, it still won't go over 3000 on the road. If I try to enrichen the carbs more, then I get wads of black

- You may have something! I removed the fuel filter and then put a gauge = on the fuel line, before it connects to the carbs. When the ignition was turned on (engine not running) the gauge read 3 psi,
