I'm not using an rocker oil feed kit, but... I've heard from a couple of people that rocker-oil feed pipes tend to rob oil from the areas that rely on it's lubrication even more...the main bearings.

The oil for the rockers is indeed "pumped" up there by the rear of cam shaft bearing area. Assuming that the capacity of this "pump" is sufficient then there will be a certain amount of back pressure

the tray in the oil pan is a windage tray. common on big 'merican v-8s (at least mustangs). dunno about mounting one to a spit, but the theory should be the same.

Interesting questions. No & No. Are you going to compile the results? I've been thinking of putting the exterior rocker oiler on. I get very nervous when I see how dry it appears in the rocker area.

Craig, I may be mistaken, but I believe these are the holes through which the oil feed galleys tot he cam bearings were drilled, and then, as you speculated, the outer holes were "tapped and capped"
