For the Bugeyes there were three straps for the hood and frame, at least there were on my 60'. The leather strap tied the hood frame to the body and the two fabric straps tied the hood to the frame.

These engines (as most European engines of that time) need to run at higher RPM's. They do not have any umps at low RPM's and indeed this tends to tear them up. 2K RPM has always been my lower limit

Yes Bill has been the provider of period correct seals for the hard top. At least a few years ago you could get seals that matched or were close enough, except for color, from JC Whitneys. 12DF6584T
