I am trying to install my new peco LCB header and I can't fit it down thru the hole with the steering rod in place. Do I really have to take off the head or pull the steering shaft to get this sucker

Hi Bill, I ran into this problem with my LCB header (from APT) also, as have others on the list. I myself had to pull the head to be able to twist the header to fit through the hole. Others have been

On my '74 I had to enlarge the hole AND pull the steering column. It looked way easier than removing the head. Indeed, dropping the steering column was pretty easy. Geoff Branch '74 Meejit "Yellow Pe

I used an angle grinder to widen the hole, it took about 5 minutes to get the hole just right and then about 10 minutes of wiggling and twisting to get the LCB (from APT as well) through. It doesn't
