I can't seem to get the car to transition smoothly from idle. Whenever the throttle is fully closed and then opened slowly the engine stumbles. When cruising along a 40 mph if you close the throttle

The accelerator pump system is not working soon enough. Check the position of the accelerator cam and linkage to the accelerator pump arm. The pump should be squirting fuel when you move the throttl

I agree that the most probable cause of your off-idle stumble is the accelerator pump. There must be no clearance between the lever and the cam. You can check that by lightly pushing the lever up an

Holley makes a kit (about $15) which has 3 or 4 different springs for the accelerator pump. The kit also has a top which allows easy changing of the springs. You start with the silver spring and use
