I too would be interested in alternative methods of salting away bare steel parts. Right now I wrap them in oil soaked flannel cotton then make an outer wrap of a couple layers of duct tape to keep

The old tried and true thing was called "Cosmoline". It would be painted onto the parts and solidify to form a coating around the parts ans was easy to remove when the parts were needed. I don't know

TeriAnn and list, can you say "Ziebart"? Just go to your local Ziebart shop. Have the parts clean and have them dip it into the Ziebart product barrel. We used to store crankshsafts this way. Ted --

Yes it was but I have never had any luck with that stuff; as well, it's more runny than I was hoping for, so I would like to get something more like a wax. (I tried spraying some brake rotors with WD

I have used plain old Vaseline (petroleum jelly) then wrapped the piece in a plastic bag and taped all around with duct tape. No rust...no problems... LM CD5182L Check out the new British Cars Forum:
