Hey Listers: I have an opportunity to purchase a 1959 Triumph Herald Convertible. The car seems to be reasonably intact, although it has been stored outside, uncovered, for about 15 years. There does

Well, if it's a 1959, it's VERY RARE. The convertible actually wasn't introduced until the Spring of 1960. As you've already heard, the original engine would have been (for the early Heralds) a twin-

Triumph Heralds are great cars!!! I belive 1959 was the first year they were made. The original engine would be a 948cc which is kinda rare, but it's main value is to racers who just want the head.

Buy it!!! It's got a 948cc engine, 4-speed gearbox with no syncro on 1st gear, and a 4.85:1 rear, which means that at 65 mph in top gear you're engine is running around 5000 rpm. The good news is tha

The commonality of chassis/parts in the Herald range is of great benefit when it comes to upgrades. For myself, I'd go with a nicely built (balanced, D.D. Weber, cam, header) 1300, j-type O/D, and a
