They are designed to work on 12 inches of mercury. Its better to get a rebuilt one unless you get all the parts to redo it. I think through the wiperman, a rebuilt unit is 65 bucks, maybe? oletrucks

I would increase the volts for a charged rate of 8.8 volts. Each cell is 2.2 volts, so 2.2 volts times 4 cells in the 8 volt battery is 8.8 volts. The voltage should be measured after the truck sits

And if you find there is some resistance, pull your headlamp switch and disconnect a wire and go measure for resistance. Keep doing this until you do all the connections.

i converted my neighbors ford 9n to 12 volts and didnt mess with the generator. it wll charge some, but not all the way, so we put a charger on it every now and then. i do plan on slapping in a gm al

look at the vacuum advance pot, is it bad? is the timing is right? compression up? if not, you need a new motor. a 700r4 will go nicely in your truck

the pickup 5 bolt pattern is the same as a full size GM car. the trans am is a mid size. i would run the same on all four corners. uni-slot wheels look goofy and are not safe in my opinion. drilling

nope, but you can bolt up the V8 bellhousing and bolt your trans right to it if its not an inclosed driveline type.
