That's true, when you wet it, the glue is shot. Once you stick it down, that's it. It will probably stretch if you try to peel it off. Wet it and you can slide it around. Capillary action holds it on

An engine can burn a little oil and not show it. Go get a smog check or at least ask them if they will just to a tail pipe sniff. High HC's indicates unburned fuel or oil in the exhaust. -- New Mexic

The best thing to do is do away with the draft tube. I was lucky and found PCV. It came off my 54 two ton. No more drips, a lot less air pollution, 25 % less HC's! Remember, you breath whatever comes
