A couple more comments/questions on this. First, the GT6 is a 2.0 Liter engine. I noticed in my Haynes manual that the Vitesse convertible, which essentially has the same frame only came with a 1.6

In other words you want a check valve. I know Parker makes them or they're probably available at hydraulic/fluid handling suppliers. They let the fluid flow in one direction only. Mike G.
