Strange, I've been pondering the same thing. I think the key is finding a trans with a removable bellhousing so it can be installed using the Moss box bellhousing. I haven't done any measuring yet,

I'm not sure the Merkur XR4Ti box is a good idea. We owned an XR4, a nice car but the gearboxes in them are not reliable. Some XR4Ti owners are replacing the 5 speed with a box from Mustangs. Ken Pay
