Yes, you can do it that way...if so...I'd suggest you just remove the plugs, and rotate the motor by hand, as oppsosed to bumping the starter. The only drawback that I see is the valves adjusted last

where start? someone afraid Mike, I'd suggest a MoToRs manual, or shop manual...both will help you confirm the wiring. Assuming all is intact correctly, set the points for the proper gap (.018 or so)

Yeah, the hood emblems are different...the '56 is the same as the '57... Also the fender emblems on the '55 (different from the '56 too...) are below the fender ridge line. Not sure about the parking
