What is the rec'ded Fo8 liner gasket material, Copper or Steel. Why a preference? The ones I removed were Copper. What about gasket sealer on re-assembly? Type? All surfaces? For the con rod bearing

I removed the pistons yesterday, 3 of 4 pistons had the rings all broke up and 1 (front piston) had quite a bit of wear between the ring grooves, so much so that the piston was starting to break up.

The liners are now out. An 8" X 1" aluminum rod was used as the persuasive drift, and a 1/2" X 8" brass for the "fine" work. It did take some persuasion with a BFH to get them to move, but once moved

Yes, in fact I did add the felt piece onto the post, liberally soaked in "brake grease". I also might add that the cylinder retaining clips were likewise greased. As far as adjusting, I don't recall

Changed mains, con rod, thrust washers. . 001-.002 clearance on the bearings (by plastigage), .004 on the end play, all standard. County con rod, AE mains. Oil pump. All from MOSS. Valvolene W20-50.
