I bought my 4/4 several years ago and it did not have a temperature gauge. The instrument cluster just had Fuel (not working) Amps and Oil Pressure. It is a 1969 4/4 with 1600 cc cross-flow engine.

My 4/4 had an overheating problem too. I tried an electric fan that helped but did not eliminate the problem. I got my problem solved by having the radiator re-cored with more modern core material a

radiator before going to an oil cooler. The fan worked fine for me. I rebuilt to correct a leak and that helped a lot. Also a simple piece of sheet metal under the grill to route the air helps too.
