Just my .02: Cracked manifolds are pretty common in the mid to late 70's cars of all makes. When car manufacturers started putting in EGR's, they basically just drilled holes in the exhaust manifolds

I had an MGB gas tank chemically stripped to remove rust and paint. I noticed when I got it back that there are a couple of pin holes in the top of the tank where moisture got under the rubber strips
